“I am excited to see the Peruvian soccer team at the Russia 2018 world cup”
The Peruvian community in Colorado is welcoming Roland Denegri, new Consul General of Peru in Denver. Denver, who was born in Lima, took charge of his post on January 1st, 2018 and he is preparing a plan of action that he will be executing to help all Peruvians who live in nine states of the U.S. Denegri’s jurisdiction includes Colorado, Utah, Idaho, Nuevo México, Nebraska, Dakota del Norte Dakota del Sur, Montana y Wyoming.
Denegri is a lawyer. He graduated from the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru, and later from the Diplomatic Academy of Peru. This diplomat also obtained an advanced degree in International Public Law at the University of Nottingham in the U.K. During his career, he has performed duties for the Peruvian mission at the European Union and at the Embassy of Peru in Belgium, as well as the Embassy of Peru in Argentina.
The moment when he was assigned for his current position in the U.S., Denegri was working as an assessor to the Peruvian minister of foreign affairs. Previous to that, he served in other dependencies of the Peruvian chancellery, such as the South American Division and the Division of Economic Affairs. Denegri is planning in executing mobile consulates to better serve all Peruvians who live in the nine states on his region and to support Peruvian entrepreneurs who are promoting the gastronomy of Peru abroad.
Looking forward to Russia 2018
Denegri didn’t hide his enthusiasm to see play the Peruvian national soccer team on the upcoming Russia World Cup. “I am very happy to see the Peruvian team returning to the world cup. This is happening after 30 years. I clearly remember what we went through during the 1982 Spain World Cup, which was the last cup we attended. I remember every single game. The game with Italy; one against Cameroon; and our debacle against Poland. I am excited for the new generation of players that will represent us, “ he concluded.
