Juan Gallegos has been appointed the new director of Protégete-Denver. Protégete is a program that builds a more powerful voice for local Latino communities in the fight against climate change by promoting a healthy future for all Coloradans. This program is an initiative of Conservation Colorado that has the mission of protecting air, lands, waters, and people.
Gallegos is a first-generation immigrant from Chihuahua, Mexico. On July 4th, 2001 he arrived in Nebraska were his family settled. He previously worked as the Managing Director of CIRC Action Fund, an immigrant rights organization. His favorite thing about Colorado is being able to live in a mid-size city that has almost everything, plus being only a few minutes away from the mountains.
