Bison Ridge Recreation Center opens in Commerce City
The long-awaited Commerce City Bison Ridge Recreation Center opened its doors. The 108,000-square-foot recreation center includes some unique amenities such as an indoor swimming pool with an indoor/outdoor slide that allows for a custom light show and music; an outdoor yoga/fitness area with mountain views; and a state-of-the-art gymnastics center with in-ground trampoline, three vault runways, and spring flooring. The facility also includes rental rooms for swim parties, three indoor gymnasium courts and catering kitchen.
“Residents told us what they wanted in the new recreation center and today that vision is a reality,” said Mayor Sean Ford. “With residents’ vision and support, Commerce City is now home to a state-of-the-art recreation facility that will serve our growing community for many years to come.” In 2013, Commerce City’s voters approved a 1-percent sales and use tax increase for the construction, operations, and maintenance of new parks, recreation, and road projects.
