A new generation of committed and visionary leaders

The Hispanic Chamber Foundation presented the new class for their leadership program “Aspiring Leaders”. This foundation is a non-profit organization that works hand in had with the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (HCC). “We are pleased to meet with this new group of leaders that will attend this educational program that fulfills an important part of the mission of our organization, which is to prepare new Hispanic leadership,” said Mike Ferrufino, CEO and president of the HCC.

Crisanta Duran, Colorado Speaker of the House, and Mónica Rodriguez, Director of the Hispanic Chamber Foundation also attended the event. Rodriguez explained that this new group is formed by 29 executives and business owners who work in the public or private sector who are also community leaders. This course will take place for 7 months. The academic contents that will be taught are provided by the Metro State University – Denver.

With high expectations 

Members of this new group shared their expectations with us. “I am seeking to learn and develop effective leadership abilities. With that new knowledge I will be able to grow my business. I want to learn how to innovate. At the same time, I am sure that those tools will help me better my community and be a role model for future business owners and micro entrepreneurs,” explained Norberto Mojardín, owner of Beto’s Hair Studio.

Jessica Lanfranco, executive at the Community College of Denver (CCD) also shared what she expects from the program. “My biggest interest is to learn new tools to communicate effectively with the teams I work with,” explained Lanfranco. And she added, “I believe that better communication will help me face challenges in better ways. And even more important, I believe that with new skills I will be able to a positive influence in my team.”
